Apples iPhone 4 is coming late July and dispite the airial issues, it's a great device. More requested features have been delivered with the new multi tasking IOS 4 operating system. If you have been thinking of an iPhone purchase then this is the one.

The Telstras T-Box looks like a winner and a Lonnie Telstra team had an instrumental role in it's delivery.

Some Simple Backup Tips

  1. Do backups. Yes do them on a regular schedule.

  2. Have a minimum of 3 physical media that you rotate for your backups. Grandfather, father and son.

  3. Keep a weekly/monthly backup at another physical location like a bank, home or online.

  4. Data is more inportant than programs.

  5. Secure your backups. Lock and key and/or encryption.

Next Generation Applications

Do you want your database solution available anywhere? Then try our demonstration web application at http://www.garjewa.com.au:8080/  It doesn't just run in a browser but can be placed on your desktop (out of browser) just like all your other applications.

Training - GIS anyone

VB.Net training featured last quarter with a Masters student looking for some guidance in completing an interesting program with graphical information systems (GIS) data and weather data. Have you ever wanted to work out how many weather stations were in a given distance from your location and then compute the avaerage weather feature? (ie: rainfall, temperature, humidity etc). Neither did I, but it was an interesting project with an eager to learn client.

Furneax Freight

Garjewa has been helping this new Bridport company get their freight system up and running for their Bass Straight freight services. A custom designed Access database solution handles all consignment details and billing transfer to MYOB. Unless you are a developer, you aren't missing much. There are only a few applications running on AZURE at the moment. Try this link if you would like to know more.
